A majestic antique Art Nouveau lavaliere necklace exhibiting a stunning gallery consisting of scrolling, foliate motifs decorated with an abundance of old mine cut diamonds and a large cabochon emerald dropper dangling at the bottom. It displays a vivid green hue and weighs approx. 5 carats.

Emerald is the birthstone of May. The Romans considered it to be the sacred stone of the goddess Venus and was said to preserve love and provide hope. Its natural green colouring also makes it a stone of springtime and is associated with eternal love and faithfulness.

Each diamond is bright and clean with SI1 clarity – H/I colour. The largest is a lovely square cushion cut stone placed above the emerald and weighs approx. 0.20ct on its own, with approx. 2ct across the gallery.

The articulated lavaliere gallery is expertly crafted in sterling silver with an 18ct yellow gold back and chain. It’s truly outstanding, a magnificent Victorian statement piece dating to the late 19th Century with a dazzling array of precious gems across the front.

We recommend you insure for £13,500. We can provide a written Valuation on completion of the sale.
