A marvellous Art Deco lavaliere necklace from the early 20th Century boasting a magnificent scissor-cut aquamarine weighing approx. 25 carats. It displays a clear, ocean blue hue with flashes of green and hangs from two chains beneath a second, smaller aquamarine weighing approx. 0.50ct.

Aquamarine is the birthstone of March. It derives its name from its tranquil, clear blue/ green colouring that emulates the beauty of a tropical ocean or icy glacial waters. It was once believed to be the treasure of Mermaids and is said to bring happiness, good fortune and eternal youth.

The aquas are claw set in 15ct gold mounts and join a fine gold cable chain measuring 16 inches. It’s a fabulous necklace, in excellent condition with a truly spectacular aquamarine suspended from the bottom.

We recommend you insure for £6,300. We can provide a written Valuation on completion of the sale.
