Antique Victorian Turquoise Snake Brooch Garnet Eyes Silver 18Ct Gold Circa 1850
A rare Antique mid Victorian brooch depicting a fabulous snake coiled into an infinity symbol. A lovely array of natural Turquoise stones line the top of the piece and lead to red cabochon Garnet eyes on top of the head with a wonderful turquoise ball dropper hanging from the mouth.
Serpent jewellery was popular in the Victorian era and symbolized a wonderful combination of love, loyalty and friendship with their coiled shape representing an infinite, everlasting bond.
The piece is fashioned in Silver and backed in a dark 18ct Yellow Gold. It’s been beautifully preserved throughout the years and a highly collectable antique treasure.
