Antique Victorian Sterling Silver Sovereign Locket Necklace Guard Chain Dated 1907

A grand antique Sterling Silver Locket and chain which is fully hallmarked and dated 1907.

The Locket is heavy and substantial and displays lovely engraved initials ‘B. J.’ on the front.

The locket opens up to reveal a well-preserved Coin case which can be pushed down so that a Sovereign coin can be inserted and kept safe.

There is a small ding on the front of the locket but this is minimal wear for its age.

The piece is complete with Sterling Silver and Birmingham hallmarks which date the piece to 1907. There are also a Chester 1907 stamps on the inside of the locket which is most likely when the initials were engraved.

A long Sterling Silver Guard chain is also included and has developed a lovely smoothness with age.

This is a highly collectable Victorian piece and steeped in history.
