ANTIQUE VICTORIAN STERLING SILVER IVY LOCKET COLLAR NECKLACE CIRCA 1880
An exquisite Antique Sterling Silver locket and collar made during the latter half of the Victorian era, Circa 1880.
The locket features beautiful embossed decoration with stripes decorated with intricate patterns. Leaves and Ivy are also etched across the front and have long represented an unbreakable bond, such as friendship or marriage, as in the Victorian rhyme 'Close clings the ivy to the tree, so in my heart, I cling to thee.'
The locket has space for two photographs to be inserted within to keep your cherished photographs close to your heart. It is complete with an ornate collar made up of fancy interlocking links with engraved detailing.
It is a fantastic piece of Victorian history and complete with Chester hallmarks and makers initials on the reverse of the locket.
