Antique Victorian Sapphire Diamond Bangle 18ct Gold With Box
A magnificent antique Victorian bangle from the late-19th Century lined with alternating cushion-cut blue sapphires and sparkling old mine-cut diamonds along the front, graduating from 0.10 – 0.20ct.
Sapphire is the birthstone of September. The blue variety is considered a stone of truth, wisdom and protection and has long been a favourite of kings and royalty, adored for its royal-blue colouring which was considered a reflection of the sky and the heavens, making it divine.
The bangle has a bright yellow bloom and is modelled in 18ct gold throughout. The workmanship is impeccable, with the stones flush-set in individual blocks along the front, with scrolling motifs and golden balls bordering.
It’s an outstanding antique bangle, all in excellent condition and fitted with a secure box clasp and safety chain at the side. It’s even complete with its original box with a burgundy velvet interior, leatherette exterior and a suspended platform for the bangle to sit on.
We recommend you insure for £3,000. We can provide a written Valuation on completion of the sale.
