Antique Victorian Harlequin Gemstone Bracelet 18ct Gold

A fabulous antique Victorian harlequin bracelet from the late 19^th Century lined with eleven colourful gemstones, including red garnets, white rock crystals, yellow citrines, green tourmalines, blue zircons and green/ blue quartz. The smallest stones weigh approx. 0.45ct and graduate in size to a 1.2ct garnet in the middle. 

Harlequin jewellery is named after the colourful costumes of the 16th century comedy actors of the same name. The style was popular during the 19^th Century and saw wonderful pieces of jewellery abundantly decorated in coloured gemstones. 

The stones are set in 18ct gold frames that articulate together and join a fine curb chain, complete with box clasp. It’s in excellent condition with a gorgeous rainbow of gems spread out on top.
