ANTIQUE VICTORIAN GEMSTONE HARLEQUIN FLOWER PENDANT 18CT GOLD
A colourful antique Victorian Harlequin pendant from the late 19th Century fashioned in 18ct gold with a halo of natural opals, pearls, rubies and blue and white sapphires with a fabulous flower-shaped dropper in the centre decorated with further opal petals and a central ruby.
Harlequin jewellery is named after the colourful costumes of 16th -Century comedy actors of the same name. The style was popular during the 19th Century and saw wonderful pieces of jewellery abundantly decorated in coloured gemstones.
The pendant is in excellent condition, displaying a gorgeous rainbow of gemstones that would look perfect on the end of a gold chain.
