A stunning antique French star pendant from the late 19th Century featuring a fabulous open-work gallery with an eight-pointed star in the middle. A large, silver half-pearl bulges from the centre, encircled by twinkling rose cut diamonds that also chase around the outer gallery (approx. 1.5ct total).

Celestial jewellery became increasingly sought after during the 19th Century with stars worn as symbols of luck and guidance. They were often decorated with sparkling diamonds and luminous pearls, symbolising eternal love and devotion, whilst also capturing the celestial beauty of the moon and stars.

This exquisite Victorian era star pendant is fashioned in 18ct yellow gold with silver diamond settings at the front. It’s in excellent condition and looks to have been converted from a brooch with the addition of a new gold loop at the top, complete with a French 18ct eagle mark.

We recommend you insure for £3,300. We can provide a written Valuation on completion of the sale.
