ANTIQUE VICTORIAN CABLE LINK GUARD CHAIN STERLING SILVER 18CT GOLD GILT NECKLACE CIRCA 1880
A robust Antique guard chain dating from the late Victorian era, Circa 1880. The piece is made up of polished cable links which are fashioned in Sterling Silver and gilded in 18ct Yellow Gold.
The chain is complete with a trigger clasp at the end which may have been used to attach a pocket watch or a cylinder of fur known as a Muff to keep the wearers hands warm in winter.
It is a good solid piece and can be worn as one long chain or wrapped twice around the neck.
