Antique Victorian Albert Bracelet 9ct Gold Curb Chain
This stylish curb bracelet has been converted from an antique Victorian Albert chain and consists of graduated gold curb links, each stamped “375/ 9ct”. It’s also stamped with the maker’s mark belonging to E. White House & Son of Birmingham and the mark can also be found on one of its dog clips, confirming its original, and is paired with a new matching clip as well.
Albert chains were both a fashionable and practical accessory for a gentleman in the 19th – 20th Century, often adorned with a pocket watch or fob and secured to the buttonhole of a waistcoat for quick access. Today they’re also worn as versatile and stylish necklaces or bracelets; a custom started by the wives of soldiers during WW1 who wore the chains as a keepsake.
This timeless Victorian era Albert bracelet is perfect to add some antique charm to your everyday style and has a good weight and a pleasing rosy-gold glow that has developed over time.
