Antique Georgian Rose Cut Diamond Drop Earrings 3.5ct Total
An exquisite pair of antique Georgian drop earrings from the early 19th Century decorated with an array of twinkling rose cut diamonds across the front, the largest of which weighs approx. 0.90ct and is crowned on a dropper at the bottom (approx. 3.5ct total).
The rose cut has been around since the 16th Century and is recognised for their neat triangular facets that are cut to resemble the petals of a rosebud. They were at the height of popularity in the Georgian era and were beloved for their enchanting sparkle that was said to dance by candlelight.
The scrolling galleries are ornately detailed and modelled in silver with 18ct gold hooks and sides around the dropper. They’re a classic Georgian pair, all original and in pristine condition.
We recommend you insure for £4,300. We can provide a written Valuation on completion of the sale.
