Antique Georgian Long Pinchbeck Rope Chain Turquoise Clasp
A grand antique Georgian rope chain from the early 19th Century consisting of golden pinchbeck rings tightly interwoven into one thick, spiralling strand that mimics rope.
The links have a bumpy patterning which give them a distinct texture and sheen and lead to an ornate box clasp decorated with cannetille metalwork and four blue turquoise with a new 9ct gold safety chain added for extra security.
It’s a heavy, robust chain weighing 98.6 grams and measures 36.5 inches in total so it can be worn as one long chain or looped twice around the neck. It’s a spectacular piece of Georgian jewellery and has remained in pristine condition.
We recommend you insure for £3,000. We can provide a written Valuation on completion of the sale.
