A remarkable antique garnet collar and earring suite beautifully preserved from the late Georgian era. The collar depicts a beautiful wreath of flowers and leaves and leads to a large floral dropper hanging from the bottom with a secret locket on the back containing cherished lock of hair.

Every petal and leaf is adorned with a beautiful flat cut garnet ranging from 0.10ct to 1.7ct and exhibits a luxurious deep red-wine hue. They’re all collet set in closed-back 18ct gold settings with a secure box clasp at the top of the collar fitted with a new gold safety chain.

Garnet is the birthstone of January and has been desired throughout history for its strength and blazing crimson-red or cherry-pink flame that glows beneath its dark exterior. It’s long been considered a stone of the heart and symbolic of passion and enduring love.

It’s extremely rare to find a complete Georgian set like this and in such excellent condition. It’s even accompanied by its original box which has a navy leatherette exterior and cream velvet interior with individual holders for each item.

We recommend you insure for £11,000. We can provide a written Valuation on completion of the sale.
