A fabulous antique Victorian bracelet depicting a belt with a fabulous, domed buckle painted in a sky-blue enamel with a star on top dotted with six twinkling diamonds and a natural pearl. The buckle is also haloed by alternating white pearls and soft-pink angel skin coral, with further pearls and enamel work across the tip.

Belt and Buckles were a popular romantic token in the Victorian era with their infinite loop and secure buckle perfectly representing eternal love and a strong, unbreakable bond that could never be broken. Pearls and diamonds were also considered stones of love and loyalty and further enhance the romance of the piece.

The bracelet is crafted entirely in 18ct gold with a thick, silky band consisting of intricately woven links that are lovely and smooth and articulate fluidly together. It measures 7.8 inches but the length can easily be adjusted by pulling the tip through the buckle to tighten it around the wrist like a belt.

It’s an ingenious design with exceptional workmanship all round. It dates to the late 19th Century and has remained in pristine condition.

We recommend you insure for £5,300. We can provide a written Valuation on completion of the sale.
