Antique Victorian Art Nouveau Aquamarine Pearl Pendant Platinum 15ct Gold
This fabulous antique Art Nouveau aquamarine pearl pendant features two clear ocean-blue aquamarines, one at its heart and the other dangling from a dropper below. The oval centre stone is flanked by creamy seed pearls, with one more crowned above and atop the aquamarine itself. They’re bezel set within an elegant open-work gallery, fashioned in a warm 15ct yellow gold, with platinum ivy leaf motifs and milgrain edging.
Aquamarine and pearls are both considered treasures of the ocean and were a favoured pairing in the 19th century, with their gentle white and blue hues harmonising to evoke the calm and serenity of the sky and ocean. Ivy was also used to signify enduring love, echoing the old Victorian rhyme: “Close clings the ivy to the tree, so in my heart I cling to thee”.
Treat yourself or a loved one to this pretty Art Nouveau aquamarine pearl pendant, beautifully preserved from the turn of the 20th Century. Its graceful design and soothing gemstones are sure to delight and will look right at home on the end of a gold chain.
