Antique Victorian Rollerball Albert Chain 9ct Gold
A luxurious antique Victorian Albert chain, consisting of solid 9ct gold curb links and faceted rollerball links that glide effortlessly over the skin, glittering as they catch the light. Each link is verified with a “9ct” stamp and has developed a muted rose-gold patina with age.
Albert chains were both a fashionable and practical accessory for a gentleman in the 19th Century, often adorned with a pocket watch or fob and secured to the buttonhole of a waistcoat for quick access. Today they’re also worn as versatile and stylish necklaces; a custom started by the wives of soldiers during WW1 who wore the chains as a keepsake.
This heavy Victorian rollerball chain was made in Birmingham by E.Whitehouse & Son in the late 19th Century and is complete with its original claw clasps and T-bar. It will add a lovely touch of antique charm to your look and is perfect worn as a traditional albert or as a chic necklace.
