Antique Victorian Jade Pearl Necklace With Floral Jadeite Pendant
This sumptuous East-Asian inspired antique Victorian jade pearl necklace dates to the late 19th Century and consists of three full strands of natural seed pearls and four polished jade beads, leading to the focal point, a hand-carved jadeite pendant, exhibiting a beautiful apple-green hue with leaf and flower engraving.
A stone of legend and mysticism, Jade has been valued by civilizations across the world for thousands of years due to its strength, glossy surface, and gentle green hue. It was particularly revered in China, sometimes called the “gem supreme” or “jewel of Heaven” and was believed to provide wisdom, good fortune, and long life to those who possessed it.
This delicate Victorian jade pearl necklace has remained in excellent condition and is held securely by gilt metal settings and ring clasp. It’s a distinctive statement piece, with an ample length of 31 inches, made up of soothing, natural pearls and jade stones that look fabulous cascading around the neck.
We recommend you insure for £3,300. We can provide a written Valuation on completion of the sale.
