An exquisite antique Victorian suite featuring a gorgeous brooch and matching drop earrings collet set with cabochon garnets and twinkling rose cut diamonds. The garnets are lovely and smooth with intense flashes of red when they catch the light. The largest weighs approx. 12.5ct at the top of the brooch with a 6ct dropper hanging below.

Garnet is the birthstone of January and has been desired throughout history for its strength and blazing crimson-red or cherry-pink flame that glows beneath its dark exterior. It’s long been considered a stone of the heart and symbolic of passion and enduring love.

The set is fashioned in silver and backed in 15ct gold with ornate scrolling motifs around the outside of the brooch and a safety lock clasp at the back of the pin.

It’s extremely rare to find a complete suite like this and in such excellent condition. They’re even accompanied by their original brown leatherette box with a deep red velvet interior which displays the maker’s insignia under the lid indicating they were made in London by The Goldsmiths and Silversmiths Company in the late 19th Century.

We recommend you insure for £4,300. We can provide a written Valuation on completion of the sale.
