Antique Edwardian Black Opal Diamond Drop Earrings Platinum 18ct Gold
Dating to the early 20th century, these glamorous Edwardian black opal drop earrings are adorned with two natural black opal cabochons bezel-set at the base (approx. 3ct each), with twinkling diamonds trailing up each slender dropper (approx. 0.32ct total). The opals themselves are beautifully distinct, with black patches illuminated by ethereal flashes of green, blue, and purple, like the Northern Lights breaking through a night sky.
Black Opal is the most highly prized of its kind. The darker colouration means that the flashes of colour are much starker and more radiant, with ethereal greens and bright blues flowing within the stone, evoking the beauty of a cosmic landscape, or the Aurora Borealis.
Crafted in 18ct yellow gold, these fabulous black opal earrings display elegant, scrolled engraving along the sides, with platinum milgrain settings at the front. They swing gracefully from hook wires and frame the face with timeless Edwardian charm.
