A spectacular pair of antique drop earrings made in France in the early 19th Century. Each earring is made up of three ornate sections decorated with an array of sparkling paste stones that simulate the beauty of diamonds.

Paste is a heavy, transparent flint glass that has been used since ancient times to simulate the beauty of gemstones. The art of cutting paste takes expert craftsmanship and the highest quality stones are often able to replicate the cut, colour and sparkle of natural gems to near perfection.

Both are fashioned in solid silver and fitted with 18ct gold hook wires. They will look wonderful dangling from each ear and are complete with French hallmarks on the reverse.
