This charming antique French bar brooch depicts a delicate leafy olive branch with a lyre motif at its centre. It’s encrusted with twinkling rose-cut diamonds, totalling approx. 0.60ct and accented by five lustrous natural pearl olives, with silver, pink and blue tones. It’s crafted in silver and rosy 18ct gold, with a French 18ct Eagle hallmark on the back of the pin.

The lyre and the olive branch were a symbol of creativity, harmony, and wisdom, reflecting its origins in classical antiquity and its association with deities such as Apollo. The olive branch stands for peace and prosperity, while the lyre embodies harmony and the transformative power of the creative arts.

Perfect for collectors, this classic Victorian-era diamond pearl brooch marries expert craftsmanship with beautiful gemstones and is presented in a lovely antique brooch box, featuring a cream leatherette exterior with a gold key border and a burgundy velvet interior. It’s not original, signed by “John Davies Ltd” of Swansea under the lid, but a great place to keep this sweet antique treasure safe.

We recommend you insure for £4,500. We can provide a written Valuation on completion of the sale.
