Antique Victorian French Diamond Flower Brooch 2.5ct Total
Beautifully preserved from the mid 19th Century, this gorgeous antique French diamond flower brooch is fashioned in silver and 18ct yellow gold and decorated with a striking collection of natural rose cut diamonds and three larger old mine cuts. They all glitter with dazzling beauty and have a combined weight of 2.5 carats.
During the 18th and 19th Century, old rose and mine cut diamonds were considered the highest quality with skilfully hand-cut facets that were said to gently dance by candlelight. They may be less flashy by modern standards, but their rugged aesthetic and distinctive fire are unlike any machine-cut stones made today and evoke the romance and skilled craftsmanship of a bygone era.
Perfect for adding some sparkle to your lapel, scarf or bag, this collectable French diamond flower brooch is a wonderful antique treasure and has remained in excellent condition. It’s complete with French silver hallmarks down the stem and fitted with a pin and new safety catch for extra piece of mind when worn.
We recommend you insure for £2,550. We can provide a written Valuation on completion of the sale.
