A classic antique Victorian Albert chain made up of solid 9ct yellow gold curb links that graduate in size toward the centre. Each link has a subtle rosy hue and is stamped “375/ 9ct”.

Albert chains were popularised and named after Prince Albert, Queen Victoria’s consort in the 19th Century and were traditionally worn by gentlemen to secure a pocket watch to the buttonhole of a waistcoat. Today, they are also worn as stylish necklaces; a custom that was started by the wives of soldiers during the first world war who wore the chains as a keepsake in the hope they’d return home safely.

It’s complete with its original T-bar at the bottom and is fitted with a double claw clasp at the end. It’s a solid chain with a good weight to it and can be worn as a traditional Albert or as a necklace.
