A stunning Antique butterfly pendant/ brooch from the turn of the 20th Century (Circa 1900). The body and wings are decorated with glistening Rose cut Diamonds, Turquoise stones, red Ruby eyes and a central Pearl.

Insect jewellery grew in popularity at the turn of the 20th Century due to a renewed love of the natural world following the vast urbanisation of the country and were often decorated with colourful gemstones to enhance their beauty and value.

The body is Silver and backed in 18ct Gold. It displays a fabulous collection of gemstones and is complete with a removable pin and loop so it can be worn as a pendant or a brooch.
