A beautiful antique Victorian crescent moon brooch (Circa 1900) crowned with a deep pink 0.60ct ruby in the centre, with a halo of twinkling old mine cut diamonds and further rubies and diamonds chasing toward each point in a fabulous alternating fashion (approx. 0.80ct of diamond – 1ct of ruby).

Celestial jewellery became increasingly sought after during the 19th Century as people began to look up at the stars and heavens once more with renewed fascination. The crescent moon was a symbol of the Greek God Selene, the feminine moon Goddess and represented change and female empowerment in the Victorian Era.

The crescent is modelled in 18ct gold with a wonderful pin at the back that curves around the shape of the crescent. It’s very pretty and displays a gorgeous collection of natural gemstones that contrast and complement each other beautifully.

We recommend you insure for £3,300. We can provide a written Valuation on completion of the sale.
