An exquisite antique Victorian 18ct gold locket, ornately decorated with sky-blue cabochon turquoise, bright seed pearls and a cluster of old-mine and rose-cut diamonds glittering in the centre (approx. 0.30ct total).

Turquoise is considered a stone of everlasting love and pearls a stone of loyalty. They were a popular combination in the Victorian era with their soft colours complementing each other perfectly, evoking the calm and serenity of the sky and ocean.

The locket is heavy and substantial, and the solid gold shell has developed a lovely smoothness and patina over time. It contains rims and windows within, ready to house two cherished photographs, or a lock of hair.

It’s a fine antique Victorian locket, all in excellent condition, with impeccable workmanship and beautiful blue and white gems on display, that complement the warm yellow gold perfectly.

We recommend you insure for £4,300. We can provide a written Valuation on completion of the sale.
