An exquisite Antique mid-Victorian locket displaying a beautiful engraved image of a swallow perched on a tree branch on the front and fabulous foliate patterning and Forget me nots on the reverse.
Swallows were a popular image in Victorian jewellery and symbolised romance and faithfulness. Forget me nots also carry a romantic message of love and remembrance and together carry a lovely sentiment.
This is a well-crafted antique piece and opens up with room to add two photographs within.
