A magnificent mid-Century French cocktail ring showcasing an enormous Ceylon star sapphire cabochon weighing an estimated 45.2 carats. It has a soft, silvery-violet hue that transitions from light to dark and exhibits a spectacular star-shaped shimmer that flows across the surface. It’s accompanied by a detailed C.G.L gem report which indicates it’s of Sri-Lankan origin and is all natural with no signs of heat treatment.

The mystifying Star Sapphire is named after its enchanting star-shaped shimmer known as an asterism that floats across the surface of the stone in direct light. The stars three crossbars were said to represent faith, hope and destiny and were worn as powerful talismans, offering protection and guidance to travellers.

The stone is held securely in a robust platinum claw mount and is flanked by a stunning trapeze cut diamond on each shoulder displaying exceptional VS1 clarity – G/H colour (approx. 0.80ct each).

This is one of the most impressive rings we have ever exhibited for sale, showcasing an extraordinary and rare sapphire that is truly breath-taking to behold.

We recommend you insure for £35,000. We can provide a written Valuation on completion of the sale.
