A beautiful antique Edwardian brooch claw set with a magnificent oval cut aquamarine with a desirable sea green hue that glitters like a clear ocean as it catches the light. It weighs approx. 9.5ct and is accompanied by two gleaming pearls on each side.

Aquamarine derives its name from its calming, clear blue/ green colouring that emulates the beauty of a tropical ocean or icy glacial waters. It was once believed to be the treasure of Mermaids and is said to bring happiness, good fortune and eternal youth.

The ornate frame is all 18ct gold, topped with polka dot white enamel with a scrolling, open-work design that interweaves at the top and bottom to create two love knots, symbolising eternal love.

It’s remained in pristine condition since the early 1900s and boasts a truly mouth-watering aqua that will look stunning on a lapel.

We recommend you insure for £4,300. We can provide a written Valuation on completion of the sale.
